Sending your milk to
The Milk Fairy HQ
Before you send off your precious milk, please take a moment to read through this page carefully. It's here to guide you through our shipping process step by step, so everything arrives safely and smoothly.
Three things to do before your kit is collected
Follow these steps in the days before your scheduled collection to make sure everything goes smoothly.
Prepare Your Ice Packs
When your kit arrives, place the ice packs straight in the freezer. Freeze them for at least 48 hours before your scheduled collection date to ensure optimal cooling during transport.
Organise Your Collection
Make sure your collection date is set, someone is home, and your GPS tracker is connected to your iPhone in advance for smooth coordination.

A few more things to keep in mind
Courier Arrival Window
Our courier is scheduled to arrive between 9:30 am and 1:30 pm on your collection date. Please ensure someone is home during this time. Occasionally, delays or early arrivals may occur, so we recommend being prepared for slight variations in the timeframe.
Ice Pack Instructions
Using the right number of ice packs is crucial to keep your breast milk frozen during transport. See the table below for the correct number based on your kit size.
Send the Correct Amount
Ensure you only send the amount of frozen breast milk matching your kit size (e.g., 2L or 4L). Sending more than the ordered size will incur a charge for every 100g over. Weighing your milk is the best way to check.
GPS Tracker
Your kit includes a GPS tracker so you can follow your milk's journey the whole way to our facility. Connect it to your iPhone before collection day so it's ready to go.
How many ice packs do I need?
The number of ice packs varies by kit size. Follow this table carefully to ensure your milk stays frozen during transit.
| Kit Size | Ice Packs Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Small — 1.5 - 2L | No ice packs needed | Silver kit maintains temperature without ice packs |
| Medium — 3.5-4L | 1 ice pack | Freeze for at least 48 hours before collection |
| Large — 5-6L | No ice packs needed | Silver kit maintains temperature without ice packs |

Common questions before collection day
A few things worth knowing before your milk heads our way.
No — the date on your labels is not a confirmed booking. This is one of the most common mix-ups we see, and we want to make sure it doesn't happen to you.
Your collection is only confirmed once you have booked it yourself through our Calendly link below. Until you do that, no courier will be sent to collect your kit — regardless of what date appears on your labels.
If you haven't booked yet, please do so now so your collection day is locked in and your milk gets to us on time. 💛
Book Your Collection Date →No need to panic — your courier is on the way! 9:30 am is the start of the collection window, not a set appointment time. Our courier collects from multiple addresses each day, so everyone shares the same arrival window of 9:30 am – 1:30 pm.
On busier days, couriers can run behind schedule and in some cases may not arrive until as late as 5:00 pm. We know that's a long day of waiting — we're sorry about that! If you absolutely need to head out, you can leave your packed kit in a safe place out of direct sunlight so the courier can still collect it. Please note: this option is not available if your collection is booked with Mediport — in that case, someone must be home to hand it over in person. If you're not sure which courier is collecting your kit, get in touch with us and we can check for you.
Keep an eye on your GPS tracker to follow your kit's journey and stay reassured everything is moving. 💛
Yes! Life with a baby is unpredictable — we get it. If you need to change your collection date, please contact us as soon as possible so we can update things on our end. The earlier you let us know, the easier it is to reschedule.
Unfortunately we are unable to accept milk stored in zip lock bags. Zip lock bags are not suitable for the freeze-drying process and pose a risk of leakage during transit, which could compromise your milk and your order.
Please ensure your milk is stored in certified lactation bags before sending. If you're unsure whether your storage method is suitable, get in touch with us before collection day.
Yes — there is an additional charge for milk sent in bottles. Because bottles require extra handling and processing time during the freeze-drying preparation, a surcharge applies.
If you're planning to send your milk in bottles, please contact us ahead of your collection date so we can let you know the applicable charge and make sure everything is set up correctly for your order.
