As parents, we understand the juggle—balancing modern life with the beautiful yet demanding journey of breastfeeding. We saw a gap we could fill, and decided we wanted to help the modern parent on their journey, whatever that looked like to them.
Our mission is simple: to ease the load, celebrate the effort, and bring a little magic to every family's feeding journey—because no parent should have to choose between nourishment and convenience.
How It All Started
That's why we created The Milk Fairy— We came across freeze-drying in 2022 and started the process of bringing a personal service to Australia. One designed to honour the magic of breast milk while offering freedom, flexibility, and peace of mind.
Our journey from idea to reality
"It all began when I needed to fly from the sunny tropics of Port Douglas, Queensland down to the coastal town of Lorne, Victoria for a friend’s wedding. It was my very first time being away from my son, and the first occasion I’d ever pumped and stored milk for. Suddenly, I found myself navigating the nerve-wracking task of travelling with frozen breast milk. Picture this: me at the airport, lugging a little fishing esky I’d picked up from the local bait and tackle shop, packed tightly with dry ice—because ice packs weren’t allowed on the Jetstar flight. It was chaotic, stressful, and far from practical. The whole process felt clunky, messy, and frankly overwhelming. In the middle of it all, I remember calling Mum and blurting out, “There has to be a better way!” That’s when she suggested the idea of freeze-drying—giving milk the shelf stability and ease that mums like me so desperately needed.
